Thrillers, at their most basic, are a nightmare meld of mystery, action, and our worst fears come to life. They are etched in vulnerability, steeped in suspense, and loaded with pivots, menace, and heightened action. In this fast-paced (of course) presentation we’ll cover the thriller writer’s toolbox and discuss how these twisted tales, while kin to crime or suspense fiction, are also kin to horror stories because thrillers tend toward darkness. And because the author is setting out to scare and confound the reader.
